Equestrian Photography

I first met Ricky Quinn on vacation with my daughter in June 2004 at the McGinnis Meadows Cattle & Guest Ranch in Libby, Montana. Ricky introduced us to the Buck Brannaman style of riding that the ranch uses and that Ricky teaches in his clinics.

Over the past few years I have had the pleasure and the honor of photographing some of Ricky's clinics in Oregon, where he shares his love and deep understanding of horses, and this special kind of horsemanship. It is a way of riding and interacting with these wonderful animals that brings out the special connection that exists between a person and a horse; it is a way of working with horses that becomes a graceful dance between these two different species. It is a joy for me to watch and to photograph.
